Mary Glowrey, our school patron, was an extraordinary woman who lived a life of service, love, and justice — the same values we strive to live by each day.

Born in Australia in 1887, she became one of our country’s first female doctors. But Mary felt called to do more. She travelled to India, became a religious sister, and dedicated her life to caring for the sick and the poor, especially those who had no one else to help them.

Mary combined her medical skills with her deep faith. She was the first nun allowed by the Church to practice medicine as part of her religious vocation — a true pioneer.

Now known as a Servant of God, Mary Glowrey is on the path to sainthood. Her life reminds us that by using our gifts to help others, we too can live with courage and compassion.

As a school community, may we follow her example — by choosing service, showing love, and standing for justice in all we do.
